Verses
Nocturne No. 5
These two imperatives in life— To die before my children do And leave behind a curious few Verses that come into leaf Don’t get me wrong, I love the world And pray for all it has to offer— But I will settle for another Nothing (where the shoots are coiled) These two imperatives in life— To die before my children do And leave behind a curious few Verses that come into leaf

The way the last two lines in the refrain read
And leave behind a curious few
Verses that come into leaf
It sounds almost as if the line had been clipped like a leaf and floated down. I really like this one.
(where the shoots are coiled)
Love it.
